The 5801 test kit is used to rapidly detect the presence of the HLA-B*5801 gene, which has been found to be a strong association with Allopurinol drugs causing SCAR (Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reaction), and highly lethal including Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN).
Therefore, this study suggests that HLA-B *5801 gene testing should be performed before drug prescription to improve the safety of patients.
